Internship Opportunities at ACTS

We provide a diverse range of field placement options, including:

• • • Acute Care/Crisis Services – Adult and Youth
    • Outpatient Services – Adult and Youth
    • Residential Treatment Programs – Adult and Youth
    • Supportive Housing Programs
    • Criminal Justice/Offender Programs
    • Clubhouse

Under the guidance of an assigned site or clinical supervisor, interns will have the opportunity to observe, learn, and engage in a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

• • • Empathetic communication with clients regarding addiction, mental illness, and recovery
    • Client admission and orientation processes
    • Administration and interpretation of screening/assessment instruments
    • Development of treatment or service plans
    • Participation in individual, group, and/or family counseling sessions
    • Discharge planning
    • Referral and linkage to community resources, including social, legal, and educational providers
    • Attendance at interdisciplinary treatment team meetings
    • Participation in clinical supervision sessions

Current Internship Opportunities:

• • • Behavioral Health Technicians (for students in an Associate’s level program)
    • Counselors (for students in a Bachelor’s level program)
    • Detention Screeners (for students in a Bachelor’s level Criminal Justice program)
    • Therapists (for students in a Master’s level program)
